Applications open: GOSH Open Science Hardware Events Funding Program

We are excited to announce that the GOSH Community has opened applications for it's 2023 Open Science Hardware Events Funding Program! The program is for groups that want to host an event, workshop, conference, or get-together aimed at supporting open science hardware. In 2023, we are funding events that have a clear focus on promoting or advancing open science hardware within a specific discipline including (but not limited to) the following: 

Space science, Imaging, Neuroscience, Microscopy, Conservation technology, Oceanography, Chemistry, Science and Technology Studies.

GOSH Systems Administrator: Call for Volunteers
GOSH is seeking a Systems Administrator! The role is a volunteer position with an anticipated commitment of 2 hours per month to keep an eye on the maintenance and security of the community’s services and be ready to help out when things go wrong. The World Climate Research Programme is hosting an Open Science Conference in Rwanda from October 23-27. The deadline for abstracts and the financial support application is February 28.


Now Open: Ecologists in Africa Grant. This grant provides support of up to £8,000 for ecologists in Africa to carry out innovative ecological research.  Applications for the first round of funding will close on March 15th 2023.

The Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN) accepts applications from projects and businesses in low- and middle-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Central, South and Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, Eastern Europe, Central America and the Caribbean Islands. Apply here!

Join the Research Data Alliance (RDA) interest group. This interest group aims to collaborate with the OH community (GOSH, OSHWA), scientific research projects involving OH (Open.Make, OPENNEXT), maker communities, and the RDA community to facilitate open discussions on FAIR principles for research hardware.

Open Environmental Data Project (OEDP) is hiring a Data Inclusion Specialist.
