$50k fast funding program for low-cost science tools

GOSH community members Shannon Dosemagen and Jenny Molloy are working with Experiment to provide $50,000 USD (up to $10,000 per award) in funding for new low-cost science tool ideas.  Applications are due by May 31, but they are considered as they come in, so  submit as early as possible! Apply here.


Awardees of the 2023 GOSH microgrants program

20 projects have been awarded a $500 USD microgrant to run a workshop or event focused on open science hardware. See the list of awardees here!


GOSH at FOSSASIA & Open Hardware Summit!

Last month, community members Jay Poh Wei Jie and Bri Johns gave a presentation on GOSH at the 2023 FOSSASIA Summit, as well as community member Andrew Quitmeyer at the 2023 Open Hardware Summit!

Funding Opportunity: Roddenberry Foundation’s Catalyst Fund makes grants between $2,500–$15,000 USD to anyone, anywhere in the world who has an early-stage idea or project that addresses pressing global challenges. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

The second round of the Open Science Fund is now open to proposals. The Fund’s aim is to support projects designed to advance the application and advancement of open science practices. Deadline to apply: May 9

The Center for Scientific Collaboration and Commmunity Engagement (CSCCE) is looking for a Lead Trainer with open-source experience for the POSE Training Program. Deadline for applications is May 26, 2023.

GreenTech is searching for a Hardware Lead focused on biodiversity monitoring. This is a fully remote position located in Europe with an expected salary of £55K – £75K + benefits.

Call for Proposals: 'Can Technology Save Biodiversity?' Deadline to submit abstracts: October 5 2023.
